Introduction

Dungar Castle, built between the 15th and 17th centuries, is located in the central region and was owned by the Gal family. It has been a crucial defensive position against English invasion for centuries. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the castle fell into disuse and was used as a relief house and hospital before ultimately being abandoned. However, in the 1990s, the castle was restored and protected.
