Introduction

The Bizkaia Bridge is located in the province of Biscay in the Basque Country, adjacent to the city of Bilbao. It is one of the oldest high-level suspension bridges in the world, connecting the two sides of the estuary. The bridge was built in the 19th century and designed by the renowned architect Don Alberto Palacio Elissague, who is also famous for his other masterpiece, the Crystal Palace in the Etxebarria Park. To this day, the Bizkaia Bridge is still widely used and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
