Introduction
Ledra Street is a commercial street located in Nicosia, divided between the south and north sides by a checkpoint. The street is lined with various shops and cafes, similar to pedestrian streets in China. To go shopping on Ledra Street, tourists need to present their passport or other identification to pass through the checkpoint. Pedestrian entry and exit records are reflected on a machine, but no stamps are placed on passports. The graffiti on the old buildings around the checkpoint reflects the theme of a divided city, and there is a buffer zone between the two checkpoints where abandoned buildings can be found. The difference is that after passing through the checkpoint, tourists will see different signs and currencies. The shops in North Nicosia use Turkish signs and the Turkish lira for transactions. Transportation Located on Ledra Street, you can get off at Plateia Solomou bus stop and walk northwest for about 8 minutes.
